I saw a tall hat made of beaten metal in a museum in Berlin not so long ago. It was much taller than this and covered in circles that spiralled up its length. Almost 3 feet tall and made from a single piece of metal over a thousand years ago. It was ceremonial and the circles represented, acurately I think, a lunisola calander. Here it is ......I think I need to draw bigger hats.
